Pochettino on transfer talk

Tottenham took on Manchester United on Thursday the 25th of July.

Man United took the lead in the 21st minute through Anthony Martial.

Lucas Moura then put Spurs back on level terms in the 65th minute.

However, Angel Gomes put United 2-1 up in the 80th minute and that is how the tie finished.

After the game Mauricio Pochettino cleared up his stance regarding discussing Spurs’ transfer business and contract situations.

Pochettino was asked about Toby Alderwireld and his £25m release clause.

However, the Argentine refused to answer and instead claimed his position from now on would be not to talk about signings, departures and contracts:

“I’m not going to talk.

“I’m going to work with the players at the end of the transfer market that the club is going to provide to us. Nothing to say about that.

“I am very focused on working with the players that we have and the club provide us, the coaching staff, and try to help them to improve and work with the players who we are going to have at the end of the transfer market.

“My position from now for the future, so you know: I’m not going to talk about signing players, selling players, extending the contract of the players or not extending the contract of the players.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.

Tottenham’s linked players

While Pochettino may be keeping things quiet, Spurs are still being linked with several players.

Tottenham have already signed Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke this summer.

The North London club have then been linked with moves for Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

The most recent player to be linked with Tottenham is Juventus forward, Paulo Dybala.
